We print for our own events, which means a reprint on the morning of a show is a conversation in our office rather than a call to a vendor. The same machines take outside work, at the same rates.
Because print is where events go wrong. A backdrop with a misspelt name, a standee that arrives at six for a seven o'clock start, a flex panel printed at the wrong size for a frame already rigged — none of that is a design problem, it is a supply chain problem.
So the printing is ours: our files, our machines, our operator. A reprint is a decision, not a negotiation. And once you have that capacity, it is the same capacity a shop, a builder, a hospital or a showroom needs, so we sell it directly.
What you get from a printer who also runs events: files checked before they go on the machine, sizes checked against the actual frame, and a delivery time that assumes something will go wrong — because on an event it usually does.

Most print that disappoints was briefed badly, not printed badly. Five things to get right.
Measure the frame, the wall or the window and send that. A file supplied at an arbitrary size gets scaled, and scaling is where text stops being centred and a logo stops being the right proportion.
A hoarding read from forty metres needs far less resolution than a standee somebody stands a foot away from. The common mistake is a 300 dpi file for a hoarding (enormous, slow, pointless) and a web image for a standee (fine on screen, soft when printed at four feet).
Printing needs image area past the trim so the blade never leaves a white sliver, and anything important needs to sit well inside — eyelets, frames and channels all eat the edge.
Indoors, outdoors, in sun, behind glass, on a vehicle, under water on a monsoon site. The material changes completely, and the wrong material is the most expensive mistake available: it looks right on delivery and fails in three weeks.
Always. Spelling is checked against what you typed, not against what the designer typed into the artwork. We read every line back before a job runs, and that one step catches more problems than any other.
