Karve Nagar is housing societies, and most of what happens here happens in a clubhouse or a flat: annual days, Ganpati, birthdays, naming ceremonies. The committee, the lift and the booking slot decide the build.
Karve Nagar is dense residential Pune, built out in societies rather than bungalows, and that single fact decides the work. The venue is usually a clubhouse, a podium, an open space inside the gate, or a flat — not a banquet hall. Which means every job starts with a committee, a booking register and a set of rules somebody wrote down years ago.
Those rules are not an obstacle once you read them. They will tell you the hall hours, the deposit, whether nails are allowed, where a vehicle may stand, which lift is the service lift and what time sound stops. We ask for them in writing at the quotation stage, because every one of those answers changes either the design or the price.
The functions themselves are the ordinary, frequent kind: a building Ganpati, a Navratri, an annual day with the children performing, a first birthday, a naming ceremony, a satyanarayan puja, a sixtieth. They are small enough to be done well and often enough that doing them badly gets around the society quickly.
The clubhouse, the podium, the open space inside the gate, or the flat.
Hall booking, deposit, written notice and the list of what the society does and does not allow, sorted before we draw.
Panels sized to the service lift, or joined on the landing, so nothing has to be carried up whole.
Birthday and annual-day setups built low, with nothing sharp, nothing to pull over and nothing within reach that should not be.
Puja, naming and housewarming setups inside a flat, with the floor and the furniture properly protected.
Levels set for a building full of neighbours, and the music off at the hour the committee wrote down.
Frames down, waste taken away with us, clubhouse and lobby handed back the way we found them.
A stage, sound and a children's programme, run for the whole building in one evening.
Ten days of decoration, with an arrival, a daily aarti and an immersion to plan for.
Open-space setups with flooring, lighting, sound and a crowd that grows each night.
Clubhouse or flat setups, built low and safe, with a photo corner that is not in the walkway.
Morning functions inside a flat, set up and struck before lunch.
Altar, seating and prasad counter, with the ritual layout agreed with the family first.
Sixtieth and seventy-fifth functions, where the seating matters more than the stage.
Clubhouse parties with sound and light, planned to finish at the permitted hour.
A clubhouse function is easy. What makes it hard is forgetting that you are a guest in somebody else's building.
Nails, adhesive, drilling, open flame, height limits, deposits and hours are all written down somewhere. A design that breaks one of them is a design that gets changed at eight in the morning. We ask for the list first.
Depth, width and door height. Send a photo with a tape in it. That one number decides whether a backdrop goes up whole, in pieces, or up the stairs — and the stairs cost crew.
Two hundred other families use that entrance to get to work. Load-in either starts earlier than that or begins after the rush, and saying which in advance is the difference between a cooperative watchman and an argument.
The complaint never comes from the committee. It comes from the flat above the clubhouse. A note on the board a week before, naming the date and the finish time, prevents most of it.
Clubhouse flooring is the thing deposits are withheld over. Sheeting under everything, pads under frame feet, and nothing dragged. It takes twenty minutes and it is why we get the deposit back.
Most people start here with a search rather than a recommendation, and the first results are the ones paying for the position or carrying the most reviews. Neither tells you whether a team has set up in a hall like yours.
Ask for an itemised scope, ask who is on site on the day, and ask what they have set up in Karve Nagar already. The answers sort a list of ten down to two. Our contact page has both numbers and WhatsApp, and you will get an itemised scope back rather than one figure.
Can't find yours? Call or WhatsApp — a planner answers.
We prepare what the committee asks for — the notice, the layout, the timings, the list of what is being brought in — and the booking itself is made in the resident's name, because that is whose building it is. In practice we do the paperwork and you sign it.
Yes, and it is routine. The floor and skirting are sheeted past where anything will reach, pale furniture is moved rather than draped, and the frame comes in sections that pass the door. It is set up and struck the same day.
Whatever your society says, and most here say ten or eleven. We plan the evening backwards from that hour. Loudspeakers are in any case not permitted anywhere in Pune between ten at night and six in the morning except on the days the state exempts.
Yes. That is a different job from a one-evening function: an arrival, a daily aarti, decoration that has to survive ten days of handling, and an immersion at the end. It is quoted as a package rather than per day.
No. We coordinate the caterer you choose — menus, timings, counters and service on the day — but we do not cook and we take no cut of the food bill.
Less than a hall function, because the room and the seating are already there. The work is the stage, the backdrop, the lighting and the sound. Send the date, the hall and a rough headcount and you get a range the same day.
Search results do not rank planners by quality, so the label is only ever someone's opinion. Plan With YOLO has planned events since 2013 out of Pune and handles society annual days, society ganpati and navratri and dandiya in Karve Nagar. The same crew covers Pune and Kothrud. Ask what happens to the price when a number moves; a single figure tells you nothing.
Start with teams that already work in Karve Nagar — they know the venues, the loading access and the society rules, which is where most local jobs go wrong. Our office is in Anand Nagar off Sinhagad Road and the crew travels to Karve Nagar with its own kit. Send the date, the venue and a rough guest count and you get a scope back the same day.
There is no standard rate — the cost follows the guest count, the venue, how much décor and stage you want, and the date. A wedding date in season and a weekday corporate meeting in Karve Nagar are not comparable, so a quoted range before anyone has seen the brief is not worth much. You will get an itemised scope for your own event, and every line on it can move.
