Pimple Saudagar is dense high-rise housing full of young working families, so the calendar is first birthdays, naming ceremonies, society days and new-year nights — nearly all of it inside a building, on a booked slot.

Almost none of it happens in a hall. It happens in a clubhouse, on a podium, in a party lawn inside the gate, or in a flat — which means the job is defined by three things: the society's rules, the service lift, and the slot. Those are knowable in advance and every one of them changes the design.
The buildings here are well organised and the committees are used to functions, which makes them easy to work with once you ask in writing. What they will not bend on is the finish time and the deposit, and neither should they — several hundred families live directly above the room you are decorating.

None of this is difficult. All of it goes wrong when the building is treated as a venue instead of as somebody's home.
Depth, width and door height. Send a photo with a tape in it. That number decides whether the backdrop goes up whole, in sections, or up the stairs — and the stairs cost crew and an extra hour.
Nails, adhesive, drilling, helium, open flame, height limits, deposit and hours. Every society has a list and they are all slightly different. A design that breaks one gets changed at eight in the morning, which is the worst possible time.
