Wakad is society after society of young families, which is why the calendar here fills with birthdays, baby showers, housewarmings and festival programmes. We plan, set up and run all of them, plus the weekday corporate work the offices nearby bring in.
Wakad sits across the Mula river from the western suburbs, on the municipal side that runs north from it, and it grew as housing for people working in the offices nearby. That history explains the event calendar. Most bookings here are family occasions in the first ten years of a household: a first birthday, a baby shower, a naming ceremony, a housewarming after possession, an anniversary dinner, and the society's own Ganeshotsav and Navratri programmes.
Almost all of it happens inside the gate. Community halls, clubhouse rooms, society gardens and covered parking podiums are the working venues, and each one comes with a committee, a booking slot, a deposit and a list of rules about sound, decoration and clean-up. We plan to those rules from day one rather than discovering them on setup morning.
Weekdays look different. Because the technology parks are a short drive away, teams book weekday events here: offsite days, team celebrations, training sessions and family days at nearby halls and lawns. We handle both sides of that calendar with the same planner.

Planning here starts inside your own society. Once the hall, the slot and the rules are settled, everything else — theme, décor, food, photographer — becomes a straightforward set of choices.
Society halls in Wakad are in constant demand, and they are given out by the committee on a first-come basis with a deposit. Ask for your slot in writing, and get four things on that paper: the hours you may use the hall including setup and clean-up, whether the covered parking podium or garden is included, the sound cut-off time, and the rule on fixing décor to walls and ceilings. Most committees say nothing may be drilled or taped, so we work with free-standing frames and weighted bases. Also ask about the visitor entry process, because a crew of six arriving without prior intimation can sit at the gate for half an hour. If the hall is already booked, a clubhouse room, a covered podium or a nearby banquet hall are the usual alternatives, and we shortlist those with you.
Two more society questions save trouble later. Ask whether outside caterers are allowed and where they may cook or plate, because many halls have no kitchen and the catering van then needs a place to stand. And ask how many guests the hall is allowed to hold, since a first birthday invitation grows faster than anyone expects once both sides of the family are counted.

A good share of Wakad work happens inside a flat: a housewarming puja, a naming ceremony, a small baby shower, an anniversary surprise. Tell us the floor, the lift size and whether the society allows goods in the passenger lift, because that decides whether a backdrop arrives in one piece or five. Morning ceremonies are the tightest jobs of all, since the setup has to be finished before the priest and the elders arrive, so we load in the previous evening where the society allows it and otherwise start very early. Keep the puja area, the kitchen route and the main door clear; décor that blocks any of those gets moved anyway. If elders are attending, keep a chair near the door as well, so nobody has to stand while the ceremony finds its rhythm.
Wakad sits at a busy junction, and the morning and evening flow towards the technology parks at Hinjewadi backs up through it on working days. We keep material vehicles out of those windows, which usually means arriving mid-morning or early afternoon. From June to September, society gardens and open podiums turn slippery and wet, so we plan covers, matting and an indoor fallback for any open-air programme. We visit your society hall or flat as often as the plan needs, and the same planner stays with you from the first call to the clean-up.
We reach Wakad the same day, and on event day the crew is on site hours before guests arrive. The drive from our Anand Nagar office is longest during the morning and evening flow towards the technology parks, so we schedule material vehicles outside those windows. For a site visit, a mid-morning or early afternoon slot works best.
