We plan destination weddings a short drive from Pune, where the whole family travels, stays and celebrates together. Venue, rooms, transport, décor and every function are planned as one trip, with one coordinator.
A destination wedding planner handles two jobs at once: the wedding itself and the travel of everyone attending it. That means venue and décor, but also room blocks, transport from Pune and Mumbai, check-in, meals between functions and getting elders safely to the mandap.
Most Pune families look at places within a few hours' drive: hill resorts in the ghats, quiet plateau towns, beach properties on the Konkan coast, and lakeside or vineyard stays. Guests can drive or take a coach, costs stay predictable and the wedding still feels like a getaway. Couples also ask us about Goa and Udaipur; we are happy to talk through what a wedding there would involve before you decide.
A destination wedding is usually smaller and closer than a city wedding. Guests spend two or three days together, so the schedule between functions matters as much as the functions themselves. We plan the whole stay, not just the ceremony.
These are the parts of a destination wedding we plan and manage for you.
Resort and venue options matched to guest count, drive time, room inventory and the rituals you need space for.
Coaches or cabs from Pune and other cities, pick-up points, arrival schedules and a contact person for every vehicle.
Room blocks, allocation by family, early check-in for the bridal side and welcome kits waiting in rooms.
Haldi, mehendi, sangeet, ceremony and reception setups that suit the property's lawns, poolside or banquet.
Breakfasts, lunches and free-time plans so guests are fed and entertained between functions, not waiting.
An indoor or covered alternative for every outdoor function, agreed with the venue before you arrive.

Decide the guest list before the location. A destination wedding works best when you know how many people will travel, because the number of rooms a property has usually rules out more venues than the budget does.
A resort with a beautiful lawn but only forty rooms will split your guests across hotels, which means shuttles, missed functions and tired elders. Ask every venue for its real room inventory on your dates. Then check drive time: two to three hours from Pune is comfortable for most families; beyond that, plan for a travel day on each end.
For a wedding between November and February, start eight to twelve months ahead. Resorts near Pune take bookings for full-property buyouts early, and peak dates go first. Send save-the-dates at least three months before, so guests can plan leave. Collect travel and dietary details about six weeks out, which is when room allocation and transport are finalised.
The ghats receive heavy rain from June to September. Roads can be slow, lawns waterlogged and fog can hide the view you booked for. Coastal venues are humid and windy in the monsoon too. We generally advise against open-air functions at hill or beach venues in these months, and for any season we agree a covered backup with the venue in writing.
Look after guests between functions. At a city wedding, guests go home between functions. At a destination wedding, they stay. Plan a relaxed breakfast, a pool or garden afternoon, a games corner for children and a quiet space for elders. A help desk in the lobby with one phone number for every question saves the family a hundred calls.
If you decide a city wedding suits your family better, our wedding planners in Pune page covers that. For how we design mandaps and stages that fit a venue, see event and wedding decorators.

The cost of a destination wedding in India depends mainly on guest count, the property, the number of nights and the season. Rooms and food usually take the largest share, followed by décor and travel. A wedding a short drive from Pune typically keeps travel costs lower than a flight destination. Share your guest list and preferred dates, and we will send an itemised estimate.
A destination wedding planner handles the venue, guest travel, room allocation, décor, catering coordination, function schedules and on-site management across all the wedding days. The planner is the link between your family and the property, so you are not negotiating with the resort, transport and vendors separately while also trying to host guests.
Popular destination wedding locations near Pune include hill resorts in the Lonavala and Khandala ghats, Mahabaleshwar, beach properties at Alibaug, and vineyard or lakeside stays near Nashik. The right choice depends on your guest count, the season and how far elders can comfortably travel. Hill venues suit winter; coastal venues are best outside the monsoon.
Start planning a destination wedding eight to twelve months ahead, especially for dates between November and February. Resorts near Pune fill early for peak wedding dates, and a full-property booking needs time. Send save-the-dates about three months ahead, and finalise travel and room details roughly six weeks before the wedding.
Couples often ask us about Goa and Udaipur, and we are glad to talk it through. We will look at your guest count, budget and dates, explain what travel, stay and décor would involve at that distance, and tell you honestly whether a closer Maharashtra location would give you a similar experience for less effort.
