Public Ganpati
Ten days of mandap, decoration and aarti, with a procession at the end.

Dattawadi is old, dense and built right up to the riverbank. Functions here are community affairs in tight lanes, and the job is almost entirely about where a vehicle can stop and how far things get carried.
Dattawadi sits along the river just west of the old city, and it is one of the denser parts of Pune. Buildings are close, lanes are narrow, and a function is never a private matter — the people either side know about it, and usually attend.
The calendar is the community one: public Ganpati with a mandap and a procession, weddings where the guest list is the lane, satyanarayan pujas, naming ceremonies, and hall receptions in the venues a short distance away. Guest numbers are generally higher than the invitation suggests, and that is normal rather than a planning failure.
Practically, almost everything comes down to access. A tempo often cannot reach the address, and where it can it cannot stand. Material is unloaded at the nearest point and carried in, frames are built in pieces a person can carry, and that carrying is real crew hours. We measure it and price it rather than discovering it on the morning.
Ten days of mandap, decoration and aarti, with a procession at the end.
Large guest lists in tight lanes, where flow decides the evening.
Altar, seating and prasad counter inside the house.
Morning functions at home, set up and struck before lunch.
Open-space nights with flooring, lighting and sound.
Evening functions in the halls nearby, built and struck inside the session.
Children's and milestone birthdays, at home or in a hall.
Vastu shanti and griha pravesh, set up early and cleared in time.
Mandaps, home ceremonies and the halls nearby.
Lane width, the turn and the carry distance, measured on the site visit rather than guessed.
Panels and frames in sections small enough to go through a narrow door and join inside.
Mandap, decoration, lighting, daily aarti arrangements and the immersion procession planned with the organisers.
Entry, seating, the food queue, the overflow and the way out, drawn before anything is decorated.
Enough to carry across the crowd, set so it does not fill the street, and off at the permitted hour.
Emergency access held through the function, with marshals when the crowd is heavy.
Nothing here is unusual except the access, and the access is the job.
Not the address — the nearest place a vehicle can stop and the distance from there to the door. That distance sets the crew size and the time, and it is the biggest single variable in the price. We walk it before quoting.
If it cannot go through a narrow door on somebody's shoulder, it is not getting in. Frames come in sections and are joined inside. Slower to assemble, and the only thing that works.
More people attend than were invited, and that is how it is. Seating for the invited, standing room for the rest, and a food queue that does not block the entrance.
For an ambulance or a fire tender. A function that completely blocks a lane is the one that gets stopped, and it should be.
In a lane this close your function is everybody's. A word about when the vehicle comes and when the sound stops keeps the whole thing pleasant and costs nothing.
Nobody ranks planners on how their events went. What the results rank is visibility, which is why the shortlist matters more than the order it arrives in.
Ask for an itemised scope, ask who is on site on the day, and ask what they have set up in Dattawadi already. The answers sort a list of ten down to two. Our contact page has both numbers and WhatsApp, and you will get an itemised scope back rather than one figure.
Can't find yours? Call or WhatsApp — a planner answers.
Yes. Material is unloaded at the nearest point the vehicle can stop and carried in, and frames are built in sections small enough to go through a narrow door. That carrying is real crew hours, so tell us the lane and we will price it honestly rather than discover it on the morning.
Yes, working with the mandal. It is quoted as a ten-day package, and the police intimation for the procession goes in early — we prepare the paperwork and the organisers sign it.
Yes, and you should say so at the quotation. Seating for the invited and standing room for the rest, with a food queue that does not block the entrance.
No. We coordinate the caterer you choose — menus, timings, counters and service on the day — but we do not cook and we take no cut of the food bill.
Ten at night, and in a dense lane it is enforced. Loudspeakers are not permitted anywhere in Pune between ten at night and six in the morning except on the days the state exempts.
For a wedding, three to four weeks once the hall or the ground is settled. For a public Ganpati, start before the season — the good mandap designs go months ahead.
That phrase has no official meaning, so the useful question is what to compare. Plan With YOLO has planned events since 2013 out of Pune and handles public ganpati, community weddings and satyanarayan puja in Dattawadi. The same crew covers Sinhagad Road and Parvati. Ask who is on site on the day and who answers the phone if something slips.
The shortlist worth having is teams who have set up in Dattawadi before; venue quirks are the part nobody writes in a quotation. Our office is in Anand Nagar off Sinhagad Road and the crew travels to Dattawadi with its own kit. Send the date, the venue and a rough guest count and you get a scope back the same day.
The number depends on guests, venue, décor and stage scale, and how close to the date you book. A wedding date in season and a weekday corporate meeting in Dattawadi are not comparable, so a quoted range before anyone has seen the brief is not worth much. You will get an itemised scope for your own event, and every line on it can move.
