Camp is Pune's oldest commercial district — hotels, clubs, halls and a retail high street, all on cantonment land. The venues are good and the permissions are a different system from the rest of the city.
Camp is cantonment land, which means the body that decides what may be put up, where and for how long is not the municipal corporation. That is not an obstacle once you know it, and it is a genuine problem if you find out a week before — the process and the timeline are different, and so is the paperwork.
The venues are among the best in the city: hotel banqueting, long-established clubs, large halls, and heritage buildings that photograph beautifully and cannot be drilled into. Hotels bring an in-house AV desk, fixed rigging points and a banqueting schedule you work inside. Heritage rooms bring a conservation rule for every surface.
The street side is retail — launches, activations and promotions along the main shopping stretch, where the audience is already outside and the job is stopping them. Everywhere in Camp the same practical truth applies: the roads are narrow and old, there is nowhere for a goods vehicle to stand, and builds happen early or late.
Weddings, receptions and corporate dinners in hotel ballrooms.
Member functions, anniversaries and dinners at the long-established clubs.
Day events with registration, screens, breakouts and catering coordinated.
Opening day on the high street, with the crowd and the staffing planned.
Weekend setups aimed at a walking crowd, with permissions handled first.
Evenings with a cue sheet, citations and printed certificates.
Events in old buildings, built freestanding so nothing is fixed to a surface.
Seasonal functions, which in Camp are a genuine fixture of the calendar.
Hotels, clubs, halls and the high street.
The cantonment process where it applies, plus the hotel or club's own conditions, sorted before we draw.
Freestanding and weighted structures for heritage rooms, where nothing may be drilled or adhered.
Screens, microphones on separate channels and lighting, working alongside an in-house desk rather than against it.
Opening-day crowd, offers, branding and the staff to handle the first hour on a busy street.
Arrival timed so the road is not blocked, with everything pre-assembled because there is no second trip.
Backdrops, standees, badges and signage made in our own unit, so they never become the late item.
Camp is straightforward to work in and unforgiving about one thing: assuming it works like the rest of Pune.
On cantonment land it is not the municipal corporation. The process, the forms and the timeline are different. Start four to six weeks out for anything on or beside a street, and ask the venue who they deal with rather than guessing.
No nails, no screws, no adhesive, no load on a wall or a column. Structures are freestanding and weighted. That changes the design and the price, and it is not negotiable with a conservation rule.
Many include a screen, a projector and two microphones and charge for the rest. Knowing exactly where that line falls stops you buying the same screen twice, which happens more often than anyone admits.
The roads here are narrow and there is no kerbside space. Build early or late, pre-assemble in the workshop, unload in one pass and send the vehicle away.
December in Camp is genuinely busy — hotels, clubs and the high street all at once. Dates, crew and printing all tighten. Book earlier than you would for the same event elsewhere in the city.
That search returns whoever advertises hardest in Camp, not whoever runs the better event. It is a starting list, and the sorting is still yours to do.
Ask for an itemised scope, ask who is on site on the day, and ask what they have set up in Camp already. The answers sort a list of ten down to two. Our contact page has both numbers and WhatsApp, and you will get an itemised scope back rather than one figure.

Yes. Cantonment land has its own permitting authority, forms and timeline, which is not the municipal corporation's. We prepare the paperwork and the application goes in the organiser's name. Start four to six weeks out for anything on or beside a street.
Yes, and nothing is drilled, screwed or adhered to any surface. Structures are freestanding and weighted, which changes the design and the cost. Any venue with a conservation rule will tell you the same, and we would rather plan for it than argue with it.
Yes, routinely. We confirm the load-in door, the service lift, the rigging points and the in-house AV scope before designing, and we work alongside the hotel's team. It makes the build faster and stops you paying twice for the same equipment.
No. In a hotel or club the venue caters and we coordinate timings and counters with them. Elsewhere we coordinate the caterer you choose. We do not cook and we take no cut of the food bill.
It will not. The roads are narrow with no kerbside space, so material is unloaded in one pass early or late and the vehicle leaves and returns for the clear-up.
Four to six weeks generally, and more for December — Camp is genuinely busy that month and dates, crew and printing all tighten at once.
That phrase has no official meaning, so the useful question is what to compare. Plan With YOLO has planned events since 2013 out of Pune and handles hotel banquet functions, club events and conferences in Camp. The same crew covers Ghorpadi and Wanowrie. Ask for the breakdown — décor, stage, sound, crew, transport — and compare like for like.
The shortlist worth having is teams who have set up in Camp before; venue quirks are the part nobody writes in a quotation. Our office is in Anand Nagar off Sinhagad Road and the crew travels to Camp with its own kit. Send the date, the venue and a rough guest count and you get a scope back the same day.
It moves with guest count, venue, the scale of décor and stage, and whether the date is in season. A wedding date in season and a weekday corporate meeting in Camp are not comparable, so a quoted range before anyone has seen the brief is not worth much. You will get an itemised scope for your own event, and every line on it can move.
