Start by fixing the date and the approximate guest count. Those two numbers decide which venues are possible, and the venue decides almost everything else: décor scale, catering format, parking and how many functions can happen in one place.
There are three ways to work with a planner, and the right one depends on how much time your family has. A full service wedding planner stays with you from the first venue visit to the last reception guest. Partial planning suits families who have already booked the venue and a few vendors but want help with the rest. Day-of coordination means a wedding planner coordinator takes over your plan a few weeks before the date and runs the functions, so relatives are not managing vendors on the day.

A wedding event package is planning, décor and coordination sized to your functions, not a fixed menu. Most families start from one of three shapes: a single-function package for a reception or engagement, a core package for the ceremony plus one or two other functions, and a complete package for every function from haldi to reception, with guest hospitality.
What moves the cost is easy to list: the number of functions, the guest count, the venue type, how much décor each stage and mandap needs, the season and date, and how much guest travel and stay you want handled. A lawn on a peak-season date with a large floral mandap needs far more work than a weekday banquet with a lighter setup. Pune's peak wedding season runs from November to February, and the auspicious dates inside it go first. Good lawns and banquets for those dates are often booked six to nine months ahead; if you can move by a few weeks or pick a weekday, you get far more choice. From June to September, avoid open lawns unless there is a proper waterproof structure. In April and May, move outdoor functions to the evening and plan shade and fans for a daytime haldi.
