Survey
Measurement, wall type, power availability, viewing distance and whatever rules apply to that frontage.

Most sign board problems are handover problems: the designer did not know the fabrication, the fabricator did not see the wall, and the fitter arrived with the wrong anchors. One team removes all three.
A sign board is a physical object on a specific wall, and almost every expensive mistake comes from designing before looking.
What a survey settles: the real usable width, which is usually less than the frontage because of a drainpipe, a meter box or a neighbour's edge. Whether the wall will take the load, and what fixings it needs. Where power can come from. What the board will be seen against, and from how far. Whether the society, the mall or the local body has rules about size, projection or lighting.
Then the design is drawn to that, the material is chosen from where it sits, and the fabrication and the fitting are done by people who were part of the same conversation.
Every photo here is from an event our team planned and ran.
Six steps, and the first is the one usually skipped.
Measurement, wall type, power availability, viewing distance and whatever rules apply to that frontage.
Drawn to the usable area, with the name sized to be read from where people actually see it.
Frame, face and letters made in our workshop so changes do not need a third party.
LED work, driver, wiring and a switch, where the board is lit.
Mall and society approvals, and the local body rules on size, projection and illumination.
Right anchors for the wall, levelled, cable concealed, old board taken down and removed.
The main retail sign, lit or unlit, over the shutter line.
Larger, formal, often with a logo in a separate material.
Doors, chambers, clinics and residences.
Entrance boards, wing markers and floor plates.
Arrows, floor directories and department boards for campuses and hospitals.
Fire, electrical, factory and construction site signage to the required format.
Pin-up, magnetic and glass-front boards for schools and offices.
Developer and contractor boards for a construction frontage.
Five things, and three of them are not about the board at all.
Not the shop width. Subtract the drainpipe, the electricity meter, the shutter guide and whatever the neighbour's edge actually is. Boards made to the frontage dimension and then trimmed on site end up with the name off-centre.
A mall has a signage specification and will make you redo a board that breaks it. A housing society has an opinion. The local body has rules on size, projection over a footpath and illumination. Checking takes a day; redoing a board takes a week and the money again.
Letter height follows reading distance, and this is where most shop boards go wrong — a beautifully designed name too small to read from the opposite footpath. Give us the viewing distance and the letter height is arithmetic.
A dark board on a dark wall disappears. A white board beside three other white boards disappears too. The decision is about contrast with the actual surroundings, which is why the survey photographs them.
It sounds trivial and it is a half-day with a ladder and a disposal problem. Ours includes it. If a quote does not say, ask.
Lit options: glow sign boards, LED boards, acrylic letters. For window and glass work see frosted film and one-way vision.
That search returns whoever advertises hardest in Pune, not whoever runs the better event. It is a starting list, and the sorting is still yours to do.
Three questions separate the shortlist quickly: has the team worked in Pune before, is the quotation itemised, and who is physically on site on the day. Our contact page has both numbers and WhatsApp, and you will get an itemised scope back rather than one figure.
Can't find yours? Call or WhatsApp — a planner answers.
Survey the frontage, design to the usable area, fabricate the board, handle the lighting and electrical work, check whatever permissions apply, install it with the correct fixings and take the old board away. When those are split between three vendors, the gaps between them are where the problems happen.
It follows the size, whether it is lit, the materials — flex face, acrylic face, acrylic letters, ACP backing — and the installation height and access. Send the frontage photo and the available width and the parts will be quoted separately rather than as one figure.
It follows the reading distance. Give us how far away the main viewing point is — the opposite footpath, the road, the mall atrium — and letter height becomes arithmetic. The commonest shop board mistake in Pune is a well-designed name that cannot be read from across the street.
Often. Malls have signage specifications and enforce them. Housing societies have rules. The local body has limits on size, projection over a footpath and illumination. We check before fabricating, because redoing a board costs a week and the money twice.
It follows position. Full sun and exposure point to ACP or flex on a sealed frame; a sheltered frontage allows acrylic; indoors allows sunboard and foam. Viewing distance matters too — acrylic rewards close viewing, flex covers large areas affordably.
Yes, taken down and taken away as part of the job. It sounds minor and is a half-day with a ladder plus a disposal problem, and it is left out of quotes often enough to be worth asking about explicitly.
Nobody awards that title, so it comes down to which team fits the event you are actually running. Plan With YOLO has planned events since 2013 out of Pune and handles shop front board, showroom and office board and name board and name plate in Pune. Ask each name you shortlist for an itemised scope rather than one figure, and compare the same lines.
Look for a team that has already worked in Pune, because venue access, power and society timings are local knowledge and cost you a day to learn. Our office is in Anand Nagar off Sinhagad Road and the crew travels to Pune with its own kit. Send the date, the venue and a rough guest count and you get a scope back the same day.
There is no standard rate — the cost follows the guest count, the venue, how much décor and stage you want, and the date. A wedding date in season and a weekday corporate meeting in Pune are not comparable, so a quoted range before anyone has seen the brief is not worth much. You will get an itemised scope for your own event, and every line on it can move.
