Home makhar
A flat or a bungalow: the throne, backdrop and surround, scaled to the room.

A Ganesh setup is the only decor that has to look right for ten days, through daily aarti, visitors at all hours and Pune in September. It is built to last the festival, not to photograph on day one.
Every other kind of decor has to survive one evening. A Ganesh setup is up for ten or eleven days, sees aarti twice a day, is touched by hundreds of visitors in a society, and sits through heavy rain and real humidity.
Which changes everything about how it is built. Fresh flower alone will not hold, cloth sags once it is damp, cardboard and thermocol warp, and a stage that is fine on day one looks tired by day five. So the structure is solid, the materials are chosen for the weather, and the fresh element is designed to be refreshed rather than to last.
The other thing people plan too late is the two ends: installation at the muhurat, and visarjan — when the murti has to come out, down a staircase or into a vehicle, and the whole set has to be struck.
A flat or a bungalow: the throne, backdrop and surround, scaled to the room.
A clubhouse or open space, with darshan flow, lighting and sound.
Public, larger, with a themed set and a queue that runs into the street.
Temple, wada, fort, eco or floral — built to a drawing rather than assembled.
Cloth, paper, natural materials and no thermocol, which many societies now require.
A reception or cafeteria setup, up and down inside working hours.
Alongside the Ganpati, with its own placement and decor.
The procession-day setup, transport and the strike.
For a home makhar or a society stage, the same six things decide it.
The throne and its surround, or a full society stage, built on a frame rather than propped.
A set built to a theme — temple, wada, fort, floral — with the murti’s scale leading the design.
Fresh where it is seen closest, with a refresh partway through if the family or committee wants it.
Warm light on the murti, safe cabling at floor level, and sound sized for aarti rather than for a show.
For a society or mandal: where people enter, where they stand, where the prasad desk goes.
Dismantling, getting the murti out safely, and the premises handed back clean.
Every photo here is from an event our team planned and ran.
Ganesh work is booked earlier than any other event in Pune, and these are the questions that decide how it goes.
Every decorator and every crew in Pune is committed weeks before the festival. A setup arranged a week out is whatever is left, and the flower rate in the last three days is not the rate in the previous month.
This is the question that separates a Ganesh decorator from a general one. Fresh-flower-only work looks beautiful on day one and dead by day four. The honest answer is a built structure with fresh elements placed where they can be refreshed, and a refresh visit if you want one.
Many Pune societies now specify eco-friendly only, no thermocol, limits on sound and a fixed visarjan time. Some restrict drilling in the clubhouse and lift use for materials. Get the committee's rules in writing before the design is drawn, not after.
The commonest aesthetic mistake is a large set and a small murti, which makes the murti look lost. The design starts from the murti's height and the viewing distance, and nothing in the set should out-compete it.
For a society or mandal the darshan line is the experience. Where people enter, where they stand in rain, where shoes go, where the prasad desk sits. A beautiful stage with a chaotic queue is remembered as chaos.
Who dismantles, when, how the murti leaves, and who clears the flowers. Committees that leave this vague end up doing it themselves on the one day they are most tired.

Most people start here with a search rather than a recommendation, and the first results are the ones paying for the position or carrying the most reviews. Neither tells you whether a team has set up in a hall like yours.
Three questions separate the shortlist quickly: has the team worked in Pune before, is the quotation itemised, and who is physically on site on the day. Our contact page has both numbers and WhatsApp, and you will get an itemised scope back rather than one figure.
Can't find yours? Call or WhatsApp — a planner answers.
Through Shravan, four to six weeks before the festival, and earlier for a themed mandal set. Crews and flower supply are both committed well before Bhadrapad, so a setup arranged in the last week is whatever is still free, at the last week’s flower rate.
By being built rather than assembled: a solid frame, materials chosen for rain and humidity, and fresh flower placed only where it can be refreshed. A fresh-flower-only setup looks beautiful on day one and tired by day four, which is the single commonest complaint.
Yes — cloth, paper, bamboo and natural materials with no thermocol, which a growing number of Pune societies now require. Send us the committee’s rules before the design is drawn and the whole set is designed to them.
Yes, and they are different jobs. A home makhar is scaled to a room; a society or mandal stage also needs the darshan queue, lighting, sound, the prasad desk and a plan for hundreds of visitors in September rain.
Yes. Installation happens at the muhurat hour however early it falls, and visarjan day is in the scope: the set struck, the murti brought out safely, the flowers taken away and the premises handed back clean. Committees that leave this vague end up doing it themselves.
It follows whether it is a home makhar or a society stage, how much is built to a theme, the amount of fresh flower, the lighting, and whether there is a refresh partway through. Send the murti height, the space and whether the society has material rules.
It is worth treating that search as a shortlist, not an answer — no one certifies a best. Plan With YOLO has planned events since 2013 out of Pune and handles home makhar, society ganpati stage and mandal stage in Pune. Ask what happens to the price when a number moves; a single figure tells you nothing.
The shortlist worth having is teams who have set up in Pune before; venue quirks are the part nobody writes in a quotation. Our office is in Anand Nagar off Sinhagad Road and the crew travels to Pune with its own kit. Send the date, the venue and a rough guest count and you get a scope back the same day.
There is no standard rate — the cost follows the guest count, the venue, how much décor and stage you want, and the date. A wedding date in season and a weekday corporate meeting in Pune are not comparable, so a quoted range before anyone has seen the brief is not worth much. You will get an itemised scope for your own event, and every line on it can move.
