Wakad weddings happen in society lawns, clubhouse halls and banquet rooms, and both families usually work. We choose the venue, fit the functions into the days you can actually take off, and run every one of them.
Wakad is a young, fast-built part of the PCMC side, and its weddings reflect that. Most couples here are working, most families live in tall societies rather than old family homes, and a good share of the parents and relatives travel in from another city for the wedding. So two decisions come first: which kind of venue you are using, and which days of the week the functions can realistically sit on.
The venues divide neatly. There is your own society's lawn, podium or clubhouse hall, which is closest and cheapest but comes with a committee and a guest limit. There are banquet rooms and hall venues along the main roads, sold by the session with catering attached. And there are open lawns and farm venues a short drive out, which give you space and need power, shade and lighting brought in.
One team carries the venue, the order of the days, every vendor, the relatives travelling in and the day itself, with a single point of contact throughout. Running since 2013, 500+ events planned and run.
Every photo here is from an event our team planned and ran.
One team and one point of contact for every part of the wedding.

Society lawns, clubhouse halls, banquet rooms and nearby farm venues walked with you, with limits and rules checked first.
Written permission, guest limits, vehicle lists, lift slots, sound cut-off and what may be fixed, all settled before design.
Haldi, mehendi, sangeet, ceremony and reception placed across the days both families can actually take off.
Caterer, priest, photographer, makeup and music booked around the days both families can take off, then confirmed in writing.
Room lists, station and airport pick-ups, welcome kits and a help desk, so arriving family is looked after.
A coordinator on site through every function, calling cues, handling vendors and keeping both families free.
Ceremony and reception on your own building's lawn or podium, planned inside the committee's rules and guest limit.
Haldi, mehendi or an engagement in the society's own hall, sized to its seating and its sound cut-off.
A full function in a hall along the main road, sold by the session with the catering attached.
An open venue a short drive out, where power, shade, flooring and lighting are all brought in and planned.
Functions stacked across a long weekend so working families and travelling relatives only take one day off.
A pooja, haldi or small engagement at home, planned around the lift, the corridor and the neighbours.
Short guest lists done properly, with a warmer setup and the food and welcome given the attention scale usually takes.
An evening for colleagues and friends after a smaller ceremony elsewhere, with a stage built for photographs.
Tell us the date, the guest count, the budget and the feeling you want in the room. We ask the questions most people forget.

Start with the venue, because in Wakad the venue types are genuinely different products, not different addresses. Your own society's lawn is not a smaller version of a banquet room. One is booked from a committee with a rule book and a guest limit; the other is sold by the session with the catering attached. Decide which kind you are buying before you talk about guest numbers, dates or design, and the rest of the plan becomes much simpler.
Read the row that matches the venue you are leaning towards, and ask that row's questions before you pay anything.
| Venue | How it is booked | What comes with it | What you bring | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Your society's lawn or podium | Committee application, usually a day slot | Power points, washrooms, resident parking | Flooring, shade, stage, lighting and a caterer | Families who want everything within walking distance |
| Society clubhouse hall | By the hour, with a guest limit | Chairs, fans or cooling, a small kitchen | Décor, sound and the catering | Haldi, mehendi, engagement and pooja |
| Banquet room on a main road | By the session, catering attached | Seating, cooling, a kitchen and staff | Décor, stage design and your own priest | Receptions and single-day weddings |
| Open lawn venue nearby | Full day or a full night | Ground, washrooms, a gate and parking | Power, flooring, shade, lighting and food | Long guest lists and evening functions |
| Farm venue a short drive out | Overnight, all functions together | Rooms, grounds, a kitchen and quiet | Transport for guests and a full setup | Families who want everyone in one place |
| Your own flat | No booking, but a lift and a corridor | Home comfort and no venue rules | Everything, carried up in a small lift | Pooja, naming and a very close ceremony |
Get the society's permission in writing before anything is designed. A committee decides the music cut-off, how many guest vehicles may come inside, whether a loaded tempo can reach the podium, what may be tied to railings, and how late your setup may run on the night before. All of that changes the design and the schedule, not just the paperwork, and none of it can be fixed on the morning. Ask about the goods lift while you are at it: if it is small, the stage frame has to be built in pieces that fit inside it. Our wedding decorators page shows setups built for exactly these limits.
Fix the days before you fix the functions. Both sides here usually work, and leave is the scarce resource, so most Wakad weddings end up stacked into a long weekend with the haldi and mehendi on a Friday evening, the ceremony on the Saturday and the reception that night or the next. That is a good plan, but it leaves no slack, so decide early which function you would shorten if the day runs late, and tell both families the honest hour each event begins. If your guest list is short and you would rather do fewer functions well, our intimate wedding planning page is the better starting point.
Plan arrivals like a function of their own. In a young neighbourhood, a large share of the parents, elders and cousins travel in for the wedding, and they land across two or three days rather than together. Book rooms as a block, collect train and flight timings early, arrange pick-ups rather than leaving people to find their own way, and name one relative on each side as the contact so your phone is not the help desk. Tell the society in advance if guests will be staying in a flat in the building, because visitor rules usually apply to them too.
Guest number, function count, venue type, days. Those four decide the shape of everything else, including the quote, because a lawn you have to fit out costs far more in setup than a room that is already fitted; our wedding cost page shows those lines. Then confirm the setup window, the clearing deadline and who signs off the venue handover, because a society will hold a deposit until the lawn or the hall is back the way it was. For other functions in the same buildings, see event management in Wakad.
Most people start here with a search rather than a recommendation, and the first results are the ones paying for the position or carrying the most reviews. Neither tells you whether a team has set up in a hall like yours.
Ask for an itemised scope, ask who is on site on the day, and ask what they have set up in Wakad already. The answers sort a list of ten down to two. Our contact page has both numbers and WhatsApp, and you will get an itemised scope back rather than one figure.
Can't find yours? Call or WhatsApp — a planner answers.
Yes, and it is the most common choice here, but the committee decides the terms. You will need written permission, an agreed guest limit, a list of vehicles allowed inside, a music cut-off and confirmation of what may be fixed to railings or walls. We handle that conversation with you before anything is designed, because a lift size or a parking limit changes the setup itself.
Yes, and most Wakad weddings are planned exactly that way. Haldi and mehendi go on the Friday evening, the ceremony on Saturday morning and the reception that night or the next day. It works, but it leaves no slack, so we agree in advance which function gets shortened if the day runs late and give both families the honest start time for each.
The whole arrival side. Room lists booked as a block, train and flight timings collected early, pick-ups arranged, welcome kits, someone at the venue looking after them, and their journey home settled before the last function ends. We also tell the society in advance if guests are staying in a flat in the building, because visitor rules usually apply to them too.
It depends on your guest number and the season. A banquet room gives you cooling, a kitchen, seating and a fixed session, with catering usually attached. A lawn gives you space and atmosphere but needs power, flooring, shade, lighting and a rain answer brought in. We visit both with you and say plainly which one your list and your date fit.
Yes. A pooja, a haldi or a close engagement works well at home, planned around the real constraints: the lift size, the corridor, where material can be staged, and neighbours on the same floor. We keep the build quiet, protect floors and walls, and clear everything the same day. Nothing goes up that cannot come down without a mark.
The venue type does most of it. A lawn where power, flooring, shade and lighting are all brought in costs far more in setup than a fitted banquet room. After that it is the guest number, how many functions you hold, and whether travel and stay for relatives are handled. Send your date, venue and guest count for an itemised quote.
Book as soon as the venue and the dates are fixed, and earlier than that for a season wedding between November and February. Society lawns and clubhouse halls get claimed by residents well ahead, and a committee approval is not quick. Outside the season, a few months is usually enough time to plan properly without rushing any decision.
Reviews and ads decide who appears first, not who runs the better event. Plan With YOLO has planned events since 2013 out of Pune and handles society lawn weddings, clubhouse hall functions and banquet room weddings in Wakad. The same crew covers Pune. Ask to see work from the same kind of event, not a showreel of somebody else's.
Look for a team that has already worked in Wakad, because venue access, power and society timings are local knowledge and cost you a day to learn. Our office is in Anand Nagar off Sinhagad Road and the crew travels to Wakad with its own kit. Send the date, the venue and a rough guest count and you get a scope back the same day.
It moves with guest count, venue, the scale of décor and stage, and whether the date is in season. A wedding date in season and a weekday corporate meeting in Wakad are not comparable, so a quoted range before anyone has seen the brief is not worth much. You will get an itemised scope for your own event, and every line on it can move.
