Balloons are a material, and picking the right one decides both how a setup looks and how long it holds. Latex builds the garlands, arches and columns. Foil carries names, numbers and characters and keeps its gas for days. Bubble balloons, the clear stretchy ones, do the printed floating pieces. Most of a good design is deciding which of the three does which job in your room.
Air or helium is the other half of the decision. Nearly everything in a photograph of a garland or an arch is air-filled and built on a frame, which is why it survives a long evening without sagging. Helium only earns its place when something has to float, and untreated latex does not float for long. We build on site and in sections, because a finished arch does not fit in a lift. A free-standing frame on a weighted base leaves your walls untouched, which matters in a rented flat in Kharadi as much as in a booked café corner in Baner. Send a photograph of the wall with a rough width and height and the counts, sizes and shades are settled before anything is inflated.

A balloon setup is only as good as the material it is built from and the gas inside it. Nearly everything that goes wrong — an arch sagging by nine at night, a chrome finish gone dull, paint lifted off a wall — traces back to a choice made at the start rather than to bad luck on the day.
Latex is the workhorse. It comes matte, pastel, metallic, chrome, confetti-filled and marbled, takes any shade, and is what garlands, arches and columns are built from. It is also the one that ages: latex oxidises in daylight, so a mirror-bright chrome surface turns cloudy within a day outdoors. Foil is the opposite. It holds its shape, prints letters, numbers and characters, seals itself at the valve and keeps gas far longer, which is why names, ages and dates are always foil. Bubble balloons sit between the two. They hold shape like foil, show whatever is inside them, and are what people mean when they ask for a clear printed balloon.
Air-filled is the default and it should be. A garland or arch built on a frame with air looks the same on the third day as it did on the first, as long as it is indoors and out of the sun. Helium is needed only when something has to rise: a ceiling of loose balloons, a bunch tied to a chair, a bubble floating over a table. Untreated latex filled with gas starts drooping the same evening, so a floating ceiling put up in the morning for a night party is a mistake. Foil holds for days. Give us the start time before the design is fixed and we will put the right gas in the right piece.
A garland is not balloons taped in a row. Four or five sizes are pulled through a punched strip, tied in clusters and packed tight enough that no tape shows, then finished with small accents and greenery pushed into the gaps. Arches go together the same way on a frame or a pair of weighted poles. All of it is assembled where it will stand, since a finished arch will not go up a lift. What holds it matters as much as what it is made of: a free-standing frame on a sandbag base needs nothing from your wall, while a wall-mounted garland needs either removable hooks or a surface that tape can leave cleanly.

Foil holds gas for days. Outdoors everything shortens, because heat and daylight work on latex within hours, so outdoor pieces go up close to the hour.
Usually not. Garlands, arches, columns, backdrops and foil number walls are all air-filled and built on frames, which is why they survive a long evening. Helium is worth paying for only when something must rise off the floor: a ceiling of loose balloons, bunches tied to chairs, or a bubble balloon floating over a table. Everything else is stronger without it.

Not if the fixing is chosen for the surface. Smooth, cured paint takes removable hooks or low-tack tape cleanly. Textured plaster, distemper and paint only a few weeks old will lift, so for those we use free-standing frames and weighted bases and touch nothing. Tell us the wall type when you send the photograph and we decide the method before the day.
Latex reacts to sunlight and heat. Direct sun makes the shell expand and thin until it bursts, and daylight clouds a chrome or metallic finish within a day. That is why terrace and lawn work is scheduled as late as possible, kept in shade where there is any, weighted against wind, and quoted with a few spares built into the count.
Cost follows the material list. Balloon count and backdrop width come first, then what is foil rather than latex, then height, since anything above standing reach needs a frame and longer labour. After that come gas, travel across the city, the hour you need the crew, and extras such as fresh flowers, printed boards and lights. Send the room and get an itemised quote.

Uninflated balloons and burst fragments are a choking risk, so our crew bags offcuts while building instead of sweeping up afterwards, and we ask that toddlers and pets stay out of the room until the build is finished. Gas-filled pieces are kept away from fans, lamps and heaters, and nothing is hung directly over a seat.
