Pick the kind of room before you pick the date
Party venues in Koregaon Park fall into a few groups: rooftops and terraces, garden or courtyard sections of old bungalow conversions, enclosed private dining rooms, lounge floors, the function rooms of the smaller hotels, and the clubhouses of the residential buildings in the inner lanes. Which group you choose decides what you may fix to a wall, how loud the music can be and how late the evening runs. A terrace here in December is one of the best rooms in the city, and the same terrace in July is not a room at all.
The ten o'clock line
Amplified music in the open air has to stop at 10 pm under the noise rules, and in these lanes the rule is enforced, because homes sit directly behind and above the restaurants. So terraces and gardens get a DJ until ten and quieter music after it, while licensed indoor floors carry on later. That single fact should set your running order: put the cake, the speeches and the group photographs before about 9.30 pm instead of arguing about them at five past ten.
Parking, and the load-in nobody plans for
Parking is the hardest practical problem in the area. The main road has nothing to spare, the lanes off it are narrow and mostly valet-run, and the lots are full by the time the dinner crowd arrives on a weekend. Tell guests to come by cab and give them the lane as the drop point rather than the venue gate. The same congestion sets our setup time: we load in during the afternoon, through the front door and up a staircase, because a converted bungalow rarely has a service lift. It is also why decor for this area is built in sections. Anything that cannot come apart to fit through an ordinary doorway will not reach the floor it is meant for.
What each kind of room lets you fix to it
Interiors in the old houses have textured plaster, wooden panelling and sometimes original tiles, so nails, screws and strong tape are refused; backdrops have to stand on their own weighted frames. Rooftops add wind, which rules out foil and loose helium on the upper floors, and a parapet is not a rigging point. Garden sections have no overhead structure and few power points, so lighting is low-draw or battery, and a generator only if the venue allows one. Lounge floors are the opposite problem: the house lighting is dark and coloured, which flattens pastel balloons and printed boards, so the decor has to carry its own light.
Clubhouses and homes in the inner lanes
If the party is in one of the residential buildings, the society committee decides and not a venue manager. Expect a written request a week ahead, a refundable deposit, one named resident responsible, a hard stop at ten, no drilling, and a rule about which lift the crew may use. Serving drinks at a clubhouse or a private flat needs a one-day permit, which a licensed caterer or bar service arranges; a restaurant already holds its own licence.
Before you pay a deposit
Most restaurants in Koregaon Park work on a minimum spend rather than a hall rent, charge for cutting an outside cake and refuse outside food beyond it. Ask for the minimum, the cake charge, the end time and the decor restrictions in one written message before you commit, then send us photographs of the room. We plan and decorate only. We own no venue here and have no tie-up with any of them, so what we tell you about a space is not a sales pitch for it.

How to shortlist the best event planners in Pune
Most people start here with a search rather than a recommendation, and the first results are the ones paying for the position or carrying the most reviews. Neither tells you whether a team has set up in a hall like yours.
A team that has worked Pune knows the access, the power and the society timings. Ask for that, ask for the breakdown, and ask who runs the day. Our contact page has both numbers and WhatsApp, and you will get an itemised scope back rather than one figure.
