In Moshi most baby showers are held in a new-tower flat or the society's own community room. We pick the seat that suits her, fit the décor to the floor you actually have, and clear it away the same day.
Moshi is a young family belt in the north of PCMC, and the baby showers here follow from that. Most are held at home in a new tower, or in the small community room the society keeps for members, and a few move out to the podium deck or the terrace when the weather is kind. A hall comes into it only when both sides of the family are travelling in.
So floor area is the first question, not the theme. A community room in a new building is often smaller than families expect, and every element takes some of it: her seat, the backdrop, the ritual table, a cake table, a photo corner. We measure first and then say honestly which two of those should merge, so the room stays walkable for elders and for anyone carrying a plate.
The building has its own say as well. A gate register for the crew, a goods lift with a size and a timing, no drilling anywhere, and a clear-out hour on the booking. All of that is settled before setup day.
Pick the pieces your room can actually hold; each one is quoted on its own.

We measure the room and mark where her seat, the tables and the guest space go, before any design is sent to you.
A jhula, a floral chair, a low sofa or a cushioned floor platform, picked for how she is feeling that month.
A floral, fabric or balloon backdrop sized to the wall you have, on freestanding frames with nothing drilled.
Draped tables for the thali, the oti items and the cake, placed so they do not eat into the walking space.
A low cushioned platform with a back rest for elders who sit on the floor, and chairs for those who cannot.
Crew names for the gate register, a goods lift slot and the clear-out hour, fixed with your society in advance.
Every photo here is from an event our team planned and ran.
Tell us the date, the guest count, the budget and the feeling you want in the room. We ask the questions most people forget.

Measure the room before you choose anything. In Moshi a baby shower is nearly always held in a flat or a small society community room, and floor area, not budget, is what limits the décor. Once we know the room and where she will sit, the rest can be decided in an evening.
Four spaces, in the order families use them. The flat itself comes first: close relatives, one wall for the backdrop, and a seat placed where the light is good and the kitchen door is not. The society community room comes next, and it is usually a plain carpeted room with chairs stacked at the back, a single power point and no water point inside, which matters when there is fresh flower work to do. A podium deck or terrace makes a good third option for a dry-weather morning, with shade over her seat and weights in place of anything fixed down. And a hall outside the society gets taken when both sides of the family are travelling in and the numbers stop being a room's worth. Send photographs of whichever you have, taken from the doorway, and we can plan from those.
Choose her seat first and fit the room around it, because the seat is the one element that cannot be compromised. Ask her in the same week as the function rather than a month before, since what feels comfortable changes quickly in the last weeks.
| Where she sits | What it gives you | Who it suits | What to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Decorated jhula | The traditional look and the photograph everyone expects | Families keeping the custom, earlier in the pregnancy | Fixed, low, barely moving, and it needs floor space a flat may not have |
| Floral chair with armrests | Back support and something to push up from | Most people, and anyone in the last weeks | Height and firmness; stacked hall chairs are usually wrong on both |
| Low sofa with a backdrop | Room for her mother or sister to sit beside her | Long ritual sequences and family photographs | Deep soft sofas are hard to rise from, so a firm cushion goes under her |
| Cushioned floor platform | Keeps her level with elders seated on the floor | Families who do the rituals on the floor | A back rest, a hand-hold and clear space to swing her legs out |
| Raised seat on a low stage | Everyone in a full room can see her | Larger gatherings in a community room | A step is a risk, so keep a single low rise with a hand-hold |
Newer societies run on paperwork, and it is quicker to work with it than around it. The crew goes on the gate register by name the day before. The goods lift has a size, a timing and sometimes a padded jacket that has to stay fitted, so the backdrop frame is built in sections that suit the lift rather than the front door. Drilling is refused everywhere, so frames stand on weighted bases and nothing touches the paint. The vehicle is usually kept out of the podium, which means a carry from the gate that has to be counted into the setup time. There is a clear-out hour on the booking, and the room is swept and handed back inside it. Ask for all of that in writing when you book the room, and send it to us with the photographs.
These functions run as a morning puja and a lunch, so the décor is finished before anyone arrives, which is harder than it sounds when the society opens the room only at a set hour. Where the slot is tight, the backdrop arrives made up, the tables arrive draped, and the crew places rather than builds. The arithmetic matters just as much. Her seat with standing room beside it, a backdrop behind it, a ritual table within her reach, a cake table and a photo corner will not all fit in a small room and still leave a route to the door. Two of them usually merge: the cake goes on the ritual table, and the photo corner becomes the same backdrop shot from the other side.

Most people start here with a search rather than a recommendation, and the first results are the ones paying for the position or carrying the most reviews. Neither tells you whether a team has set up in a hall like yours.
Ask for an itemised scope, ask who is on site on the day, and ask what they have set up in Moshi already. The answers sort a list of ten down to two. Our contact page has both numbers and WhatsApp, and you will get an itemised scope back rather than one figure.

Yes, the community room inside your own building is where most Moshi functions happen. We measure it, put the crew on the gate register, book the goods lift, build on weighted frames so nothing is drilled, and hand the room back swept inside the clear-out hour on your booking. Send the room photographs and the society rules when you enquire.
Yes, because the frame is made in sections to suit the lift rather than the front door. Tell us the lift depth and whether it has to be used with the padded jacket fitted, and the pieces are sized to that. Where the lift cannot be used at all, the setup is redesigned around what two people can carry up comfortably.
A firm chair with armrests, almost always. It gives her something to push up from, keeps her knees below her hips and lets her sit through a long ritual without shifting. A jhula still photographs beautifully, so many families keep one in the setup and use it only for the photographs. Decide in the same week as the function.
Merge the tables before you drop any seating. The cake goes on the ritual table, and the photo corner becomes the same backdrop shot from the other side, which frees most of the floor. Keep her seat with standing room beside it, keep a clear route to the door, and keep chairs for elders. The rest is negotiable.
Cost is driven by the size of the backdrop, fresh flowers against artificial ones, the seat you choose, how many tables and corners you want, the lighting, and the access: a goods lift, a carry from the gate and a short clear-out hour all add crew time. Send photographs of the room and a guest count and we will quote it line by line.
Two to three weeks is comfortable for a flat or a community room, and less will do for a simple setup. Book the room first, because societies give it out weeks ahead for auspicious dates and festival weekends. Once you have the slot and the clear-out hour in writing, the décor can be designed around them.
It is worth treating that search as a shortlist, not an answer — no one certifies a best. Plan With YOLO has planned events since 2013 out of Pune and handles new-tower flat setup, society community room and podium deck setup in Moshi. The same crew covers Pune. Ask which parts are handled in house and which are being passed to a third party.
The shortlist worth having is teams who have set up in Moshi before; venue quirks are the part nobody writes in a quotation. Our office is in Anand Nagar off Sinhagad Road and the crew travels to Moshi with its own kit. Send the date, the venue and a rough guest count and you get a scope back the same day.
The number depends on guests, venue, décor and stage scale, and how close to the date you book. A wedding date in season and a weekday corporate meeting in Moshi are not comparable, so a quoted range before anyone has seen the brief is not worth much. You will get an itemised scope for your own event, and every line on it can move.
