Schools and colleges
Flag hoisting, march past, the principal's address, patriotic performances by class and a prize distribution. The whole morning is built so that a parent arriving at 7.45am finds a seat and a programme, and leaves by ten.

A flag hoisting at 8am leaves no room to fix anything. The mast, the sound, the stage and the programme order all have to be right the first time, in front of a hundred parents or three hundred employees, on a morning when every vendor in the city has four other bookings. We set up the evening before and we are on site before your first guest.
Republic Day is the most unforgiving event on the calendar and the one most often treated as simple. It is short, it starts early, it is outdoors, and it has a fixed moment in it — the flag reaching the top of the mast while the anthem plays — that cannot be delayed by a microphone that will not switch on. Everything else in the morning is built around that one minute.
Three different buyers in Pune book this and they want three different mornings. A school wants a parade, a march past, a speech and six class performances, with parents seated and shaded. A housing society wants a short hoisting, sweets, and a cultural slot for the children who have been rehearsing for a fortnight. A company wants fifteen crisp minutes before the working day starts, usually with the senior-most person hoisting and a photograph that goes out on the company page the same morning.
We run all three. The difference is not the equipment, it is the schedule: a school needs ninety minutes of programme that holds a six-year-old's attention, a society needs the thing finished before people leave for work, and an office needs it over before the first client call. We write the run order against your actual start time and work backwards from it.
Flag hoisting, march past, the principal's address, patriotic performances by class and a prize distribution. The whole morning is built so that a parent arriving at 7.45am finds a seat and a programme, and leaves by ten.
An early hoisting at the clubhouse or in the podium area, the anthem, sweets for the children, and a cultural slot for the society's own performers. Short, warm and finished before the cars start leaving.
Fifteen to thirty minutes in the forecourt or on the terrace: hoisting by the senior-most present, the anthem, one short address, and a group photograph. Set up at six, cleared by ten, no disruption to the floor.
A hoisting on the shop floor apron or at the gate, with sound that carries over a working yard, and an arrangement that respects the shift timing rather than fighting it.
A short event, but every part of it has to work at the first attempt. This is what we bring.
Mast, pulley, rope and the flag itself, rigged and tested the previous evening so the pull is clean and the flag opens as it reaches the top.
Line array or column speakers placed for an open compound, cordless microphones for the speeches, and a tested feed for the anthem.
A low platform, a clean backdrop with your school or company name, and a podium — sized so a march past still has room to pass in front of it.
Chairs for parents, guests and senior staff, with canopy where the sun lands by nine, and a clear aisle for the parade.
The order of the performances, the music cues, the backstage marshalling and somebody holding the running sheet so the show does not drift.
The hoisting, the anthem, the march past and the performances, shot and handed over the same week.
Fix the hoisting time first, then everything else. It is the only fixed point in the morning. Once it is set, we can say when the crew arrives, when the sound test happens and when parents should be asked to be seated.
Decide who hoists, in writing, a week ahead. More Republic Day programmes go wrong on this than on any technical point. If it is a chief guest, somebody has to confirm them, confirm their arrival time and have a name for the announcement.
Count your performances honestly. Six class items is ninety minutes once you include the shuffling between them. Schools routinely plan eleven and then cut four live, which is worse for the children who got cut than planning eight in the first place.
Book by about the fifteenth of January. Pune has a finite number of sound and stage crews and 26 January is a single morning across the whole city. A booking made in the last week gets whatever is left rather than what suits the ground.
Respect the flag code. The flag goes up briskly and comes down slowly and ceremonially, it is never allowed to touch the ground, and a paper flag is not thrown away at the end of the morning. We brief whoever is handling it, because a school morning that gets this wrong is the part parents remember.
If you also run an Independence Day programme, the same setup and the same run order work in August, and we keep your file so the second one takes a phone call rather than a meeting.
Nobody ranks planners on how their events went. What the results rank is visibility, which is why the shortlist matters more than the order it arrives in.
Ask for an itemised scope, ask who is on site on the day, and ask what they have set up in Pune already. The answers sort a list of ten down to two. Our contact page has both numbers and WhatsApp, and you will get an itemised scope back rather than one figure.
Can't find yours? Call or WhatsApp — a planner answers.
The stage, backdrop and mast go up the previous evening wherever the ground allows it. On the morning the sound and video crew are on site at least two hours before your hoisting time, so the test happens in an empty compound rather than in front of your guests.
Either way. Most schools and societies already own a mast and want the rope, pulley and tying checked. If you need the mast itself we bring one. The flag we supply is a full-size cotton or polyester national flag, handled as the flag code requires.
No — we do not do catering at all. If you want sweets, breakfast or tea we will coordinate your own caterer or the society's usual supplier into the schedule, so their arrival fits the programme instead of interrupting it.
That is the most common corporate version and it is the easiest to run well. Hoisting, anthem, one address of three minutes, group photograph, done. The work is in the sound coverage of an open forecourt and in getting 400 people into a frame, both of which we plan beforehand.
Yes. We hold the run order, cue the music, marshal the performers backstage and keep the programme to the time it was planned for. For school programmes this is usually the part that decides whether the morning feels organised.
We will always try, but by about the fifteenth of January the good crews in Pune are committed. A booking made in the third week of January is working with whatever equipment is still free, which is not the same as the right equipment for your ground.
That phrase has no official meaning, so the useful question is what to compare. Plan With YOLO has planned events since 2013 out of Pune and handles schools and colleges, housing societies and company offices and plants in Pune. The same crew covers In Pune. Ask who is on site on the day and who answers the phone if something slips.
The shortlist worth having is teams who have set up in Pune before; venue quirks are the part nobody writes in a quotation. Our office is in Anand Nagar off Sinhagad Road and the crew travels to Pune with its own kit. Send the date, the venue and a rough guest count and you get a scope back the same day.
The number depends on guests, venue, décor and stage scale, and how close to the date you book. A wedding date in season and a weekday corporate meeting in Pune are not comparable, so a quoted range before anyone has seen the brief is not worth much. You will get an itemised scope for your own event, and every line on it can move.
