Sports event organisers for companies, schools and collegesYour people play. We run the ground.

Sports event organisers take care of everything that happens off the field: booking the ground, drawing up fixtures, arranging umpires and referees, setting up tents, water and first aid, keeping scores and running the prize ceremony. Your people only need to turn up in their team colours.

Sports event management for companies is mostly about three formats. A corporate walk or fun run gets everyone moving for a cause or a wellness month. A sports day mixes track events, relays and fun games for all fitness levels. A league, usually box cricket or five-a-side football, runs over a few weekends and builds rivalry between departments. Schools and colleges ask for sports days with march-pasts, heats, finals and a proper award stage.

We have been planning events since 2013, with 500+ events for 100+ brands and companies. As sports event organisers, we plan for Pune's weather, the ground's rules and the people who are not playing, because a sports day is also a day out for everyone who comes to cheer.

  • Grounds, turfs and routes booked
  • Fixtures, scoring and officials arranged
  • First aid, water and shade planned
  • Bibs, medals, trophies and branding
  • One point of contact from brief to prize-giving

A sports event succeeds when the timing suits the weather, the format suits the people and the day has something for those who are not playing. Get those three right and the rest is logistics. Our sports event management guide goes deeper on formats and checklists.

Pick the season and the hour

In Pune, November to February gives the most comfortable mornings for outdoor sport. From March, plan early starts and finish before the sun is high. During the monsoon, move to covered turfs or indoor courts, or postpone. For a corporate walk, a start soon after sunrise keeps it cool and clears the route before traffic builds.

Choose the right ground

Box cricket and five-a-side football run well on booked turfs, and there are plenty around Wakad, Kharadi and Hadapsar. A full sports day needs an open ground with space for a track, a shaded seating area and parking; school and college grounds are often available on weekends. Sports complexes such as the ones around Balewadi suit larger inter-company tournaments. Always check changing rooms, toilets and drinking water before you book.

Plan walkathon routes properly

A walkathon route should be a loop or a clear out-and-back, with marshals at every turn, water every couple of kilometres and a sweep person at the back. Public roads may need police permission and advance notice; campus or park routes are simpler. Keep the distance achievable for everyone, and offer a shorter route for families.

Include the people who are not playing

Many employees come to watch. Give them shade, food stalls, a cheering zone for each team and small fun games between matches. A sports day that feels like a festival does more for team spirit than any trophy. Keep the prize-giving short, hand out participation medals as well as winner trophies, and share results and photos the same evening. Plan a backup for rain, and a clear rule for how disputed decisions are settled, before the first match starts.

If you want sport as part of a wider team day, see our team building events, and for college tournaments, see college events.

Sports event organisers — FAQsQuestions people ask us.

Can't find yours? Call or WhatsApp — a planner answers.

What do sports event organisers do?

Sports event organisers plan and run everything around the game: booking grounds or turfs, drawing fixtures, arranging umpires and referees, setting up seating, shade, water and first aid, keeping scores and running the prize ceremony. They also handle registration, kits, medals and branding. Participants and your HR team can focus on playing and cheering instead of logistics.

What is a corporate walk?

A corporate walk, or walkathon, is a group walk organised by a company for its employees, often for a cause, a wellness drive or a foundation day. It usually covers a few kilometres on a marked route, with a start-finish arch, marshals, water points, medals and a short closing programme. It suits every fitness level and is easy to include families in.

What is sports event management?

Sports event management is the planning and running of a sports event from idea to prize-giving. It covers format, venue, permissions, registration, fixtures, officials, safety, hydration, branding, kits, scoring and ceremonies. For companies and schools, it also means planning for spectators, food and the weather, so the day feels organised and enjoyable for everyone.

How do I choose between sports event management companies?

Choose a company that asks about your people before it talks about trophies. It should suggest a format for your headcount and fitness mix, check grounds in person, plan first aid and water, and give you an itemised quote. Ask how they handle rain, disputes on the field and delays, because those decide whether the day runs smoothly.

Can you run a box cricket league for our company?

Yes, we run box cricket leagues for companies, from a single-day tournament to a league over several weekends. We handle team registration, turf bookings, fixtures, umpires, scoring, points tables and the finals with trophies. Teams can be formed by department or mixed, and we can add a football or badminton event for people who do not play cricket.

When is the right time for a corporate sports day in Pune?

The most comfortable time for an outdoor corporate sports day in Pune is from November to February, with an early start. In March and April, finish before midday. During the monsoon, choose covered turfs, indoor courts or a later date. Weekends usually suit leagues and walkathons, while a full sports day often works well on a working Friday or Saturday.
